Last Picture Show Review

        The Last Picture Show 4.5/5

The slow movement within The Last Picture Show is presented in a true to life manner. Our lives are full of embarrassing, discontinuous episodes. Bogdanovich merely does what Andy Warhol once experimented with, the direction of life as it really appears to us. So while it may be slow moving, it expresses the same concerns that we face daily. How do we know if we will ever find that one person for us?There's something about American culture of the fifties that feels like a dream that's gone. A soda bar, a beautiful blond girl, a remembrance of innocence. This takes everything we'd seen in 50's American cinema and demolishes it. In the Last picture Show we see a different side of 50's America, one that is full of disappointment and heartbreak.
